Director of Animal Services

  • Oversees Animal Services Section: Shelter and Field

Supervising Animal Services Officer

  • Shelter Supervisor: Assigned to Shelter M-F, oversees and trains kennel staff, cleans and completes daily kennel duties (due to current labor shortage), manages dog rescue program, covers one night of After Hours On-Call

  • Field Supervisor: Assigned to Shelter Sun, M-Th, covers one patrol area, serves as Field Training Officer, covers one night of After Hours On-Call, oversees vehicle and shelter maintenance

Animal Services Officer

  • Shifts 7:00a-4:00p and 8:00a-5:00p (subject to change)

  • (3) Sun-Th (Sun assigned to Shelter, M-Th assigned to rotating patrol area)

  • (3) Tue-Sat (one assigned to Shelter, others assigned in Field to rotating patrol area)

Animal Care Attendant

  • Responsible for cleaning and daily animal intake and husbandry

  • (2) Rotating six-day work week (due to high animal population and labor shortage)

Animal Care Attendant - Extra Help

  • Responsible for cleaning and daily animal intake and husbandry

  • One assigned primarily to Front Office, manages most dog adoption scheduling and process, off-site/ community events, social media

  • Averaging less than 20 hours per week

Volunteer Coordinator

  • Recruits/trains volunteers for shelter, manages volunteers, assists in shelter for cleaning and special projects Volunteer

Animal Services Records Specialist

  • Handles phone and in-person requests for licensing, surrender of owned animals, sick or injured, owner-surrender euthanasia requests, owner-surrender requests, complaints, donation requests and mail/order deliveries; processes adoptions and collects money

  • Assists with off-site events, special projects and animal intake

  • (1) Kitten Foster Program, Front Office duties

  • (1) Rabies Control, Front Office duties

Volunteer

  • Partners with the County of Yolo in service to the community

  • Provides services intended to supplement - not take the place of - work that would be historically and routinely done by a County employee

  • Three categories: one-time event, short-term, long-term
