Adoptions

The Cat Annex is open six days a week for adoptions:

  • Walk-ins: Mon-Fri 11:00AM – 4:00PM & Sat 11:00AM – 3:00PM

  • By Appointment: Mon-Fri 11:00AM – 4:00PM & Sat 11:00AM – 3:00PM

  • We also bring kittens and adult cats to off-site adoption events once or twice a month on weekends.

Volunteers who serve as adoption counselors, animal advocates, and groomers play a vital part in helping our cats find their forever homes. Once trained, Orange and Purple Paw volunteers may choose to conduct adoptions at the shelter or at off-site events. Additional opportunities to support cat adoption include event promos, cat transport, cat handling, administrative support, and outreach. A strong customer service orientation, ability to recognize and respond to cat body language, and familiarity with our kittens and cats are key attributes of an effective adoption counselor.

Our current adoption fee is $50 for one cat or $75 for a bonded pair. As a a special promotion, we offer a $5 adoption fee for cats over five years old. All cats are spayed/neutered (except under special circumstances), microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and flea/deworming treatment.
