Euthanasia Notifications

Volunteers are expected to respect our euthanasia (EA) decisions and the employees who are burdened with the very difficult task of making, communicating or executing on these decisions. Volunteers who do not adhere to this requirement and cause turmoil among other volunteers or staff risk termination. To be notified of animals scheduled for EA or at high risk, a volunteer must demonstrate professional maturity, a sustained commitment to YCAS, and experience working with the most difficult animals at our shelter. If you meet these requirements and wish to be considered for EA notifications, please reach out individually to the Director.
